One of the primary pieces of evidence that the Investigation and Restoration Teams looked for were "cold joints" in the masonry. Cold joints are often straight vertical or horizontal lines formed when a new brick or stone wall is built against an existing masonry wall or when an opening like a doorway is infilled with bricks.
