To discover the original size and location of the missing ca. 1797 windows, the Investigation and Restoration Teams searched for evidence on the brick walls of the ca. 1797 addition.  Specifically, they searched for physical evidence that would reveal what the earlier windows looked like.  Primarily what they found were the ca. 1797 brick relieving arches and wooden lintels above the windows.  These lintels and arches had been abandoned in place when the ca. 1812 windows were installed and were used in ca. 1797 to support the weight of the masonry found above the windows.
